My name is Andrea, the owner of The Pawsitive Coach.
I have always loved animals, specially dogs. Growing up we had mainly boxers and rescue dogs, nowadays we have Eli, our 4 year old amazing Borador (collie-lab cross) who gives services as a therapy dog for Pets As Therapy.
​
I am passionate about canine behaviour. I'm a certified dog trainer from Victoria Stilwell Academy (VSA-CDT), have studies in Advanced Canine Psychology in Animal Care College, completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course of Michael Shikashio, and I'm certified in Level 3 Award of Canine Emergency First Aid.
I believe understanding dogs comes with constant learning, so I always looking for new opportunities to learn more about dogs and dog training skills.

My training methods are based on positive reinforcement, avoiding fear based techniques. I put the focus on teaching the dog wanted behaviours and their owners handling and training techniques.
My aim is to empower owners through positive training practices, helping them to achieve "WOW moments" of training and understanding with their dogs. I work on giving owners the tools to improve the communication between them and their dog, strengthen the bond, and help build a relationship based on trust and guidance.

A dog that has a good communication with his owner is less likely to perform problem behaviours, and more likely to listen.... Let's get started!
My Services
Private training (one hour sessions), ideal for one-on-one guidance, improve focus with less distractions and, for anxious dogs that are not quite suitable for group classes. If you have little time, or just prefer to train at home, this option would be ideal for you.
Puppy Training Package
Start your puppy's journey on a good note with a puppy training package of 5 sessions one-to-one in your own home and at your own times. Here we work on a tool box of foundation behaviors to set your dog and the whole family up for success.
Training & Behavior Consultation
We review your dog's history and goal behaviours to create a customize plan for his specific needs with immediate short term solutions (management) and a training plan.
Includes Consultation Report, with Management & Training Plan, sent after the consultation.

Training & Behaviour Modification
One-to-one sessions to solve common problem behaviours or work on those unwanted behaviors that are taking over your dog's emotions and affecting the harmony on the relationship with your dog. A customized plan focused on enrichment of the dog's life, management of his environment and training will allow us to work towards our goal behavior.
